Blackman was a Member of the 'Antipodians', a Group of Melbourne Painters Including Arthur Boyd, John Brack, Robert Dickerson and Clifton Pugh. He is Best Known for Mysterious Images, Including References to Alice in Wonderland.

A Canberra-based artist active from the mid-20th Century, Hunter's paintings capture the many moods of the region's landscapes. This is a good example of her work, the treatment of paint captures the sparkle of light on water over rock, the colours have been mixed to match the muted drab greens and umbers of dry bushland, and the composition draws the eye around the scene.
From the estate of Brigadier and Mrs. Brien Forward of Canberra, and purchased by them at exhibition in 1975.

Emerson Williams was Well-known as a Lithographer. Although Most of her Lithographs were Printed in Unnumbered Editions, Many were Printed in Editions of Thirty or Less Impressions. After Studying in the US and Paris, the Artist Exhibited Widely in the US and Examples of her Work are in Collections of Public Institutions such as the New York Public Library, and the Detroit Institute of Art (Which Also has Print of 'Winter in Connecticut').

Urniezius trained as an architect before transitioning to an art practice in painting and drawing. This work, a drawing in pastel of a street scape in Vilnius, demonstrates his interest in architecture and abstraction and is characteristic of his drawings of the early period of his art career. A label on the back of the frame is from Stacio Juskaus' Galerija 'Vilnius Ir Daile', Vilnius.
