Both with papers to back, one partly distinct, the text copied later onto the spacer indistinctly including a date of 1808, each stamped to spacer and canvas for a supplier, possibly 'Chabod', in the shape of a palette

Both as found; male portrait with some tears to front, both with crazing to paint surface and discolouration due to age, some possible overpainting in particular to lady portrait; losses, cracks, previous repairs to frames
